California: Jewish Lawmaker Seeks Apology For Obama-Hitler Comparison

obaA Jewish lawmaker said that he wants an apology from a Republican candidate for California governor who compared President Barack Obama’s gun control policies to those of dictators such as Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Il.

“Assemblyman Tim Donnelly owes an apology to the millions impacted by the Holocaust and to countless American heroes and their families who battled evil during World War II,” Sen. Marty Block, D-San Diego, wrote in a statement. “His odious trivialization of Adolph Hitler’s brutalities mocks their sacrifice.”

Block is chairman of the Legislative Jewish Caucus but was speaking only for himself.

Donnelly, a state assemblyman from the San Bernardino Mountains community of Twin Peaks, posted a Twitter message a day earlier in which he compared what he said were figures who have supported gun rights with those who have supported gun control.

Those he said “stood for gun rights” were George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.

He said Hitler, Stalin, Kim, King George III, Mao Zedong and Obama “stood for gun control.”

Donnelly’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Block’s call for an apology.

  1. we know people who were ther who compare Obama t who compare Obama to Hitler people whopeople who live through Hitler

  2. It is unfair. The Nazis got a statute passed by the democratically elected parliament authorizing Hitler’s “misdeeds” (as the winners called them in 1946, at the time they were called “emergency policies”). Obama’s approach has been to simply ignore those laws he doesn’t approve and issue executive orders (even though the constitution clearly states that the Congress, alone, has the power to make all laws).

Liberal Jews get very cranky over gun control, since they are on the same side as dictators in supporting gun control. In all fairness, liberals claim an interest in safety, rather than a desire to strip citizens of the right to own a gun. Of course, the dictators also say they want to ban guns out of safety concerns. And history has shown that disarming a population is a necessary first step in stripping them of civil rights, as illustrated by the German Jews of the 1930s.

  3. Ummmm, Mr. Block, if this gun control keeps up then America will look like, Nazi Germany, USSR, and North Korea. We have to learn from the past, and the comparison is well stated……….

  4. Actually Germany had banned private ownership of guns in 1919, before the Nazi party even existed, and Hitler yemach shmo relaxed the gun laws after he came to power so that his thugs could legally carry them.

  5. Oh right, Donnelly is a “Republican” so he MUST apologize and drop out of the race! When a Democrat makes Hitler refrences (which they do often ie. Hillary), he was “misunderstood” and everyone should calm down and not be so sensitive! Lol

  6. I am sure this outraged politician wasn’t demanding the same when Bush was called the same on a daily basis. I love the false outrage.

  7. “The Nazis got a statute passed by the democratically elected parliament authorizing Hitler’s “misdeeds””

That was the “Enabling Act” of March 23, 1933. Every single non-Socialist member of the Reichstag voted in favor of it. Every single Socialist member of the Reichstag voted against it — except for the ones whom the Nazis had already arrested, or who were hiding from arrest. Most of the remaining Socialists were either in jail or exile within a few months.

“Obama’s approach has been to simply ignore those laws he doesn’t approve and issue executive orders (even though the constitution clearly states that the Congress, alone, has the power to make all laws).”

Actually executive orders are as old as the Republic, and Obama has issued them at a slower rate than any President since Grover Cleveland. And George W. Bush was notorious for signing laws and issuing a “signing statement” at the same time that he would not follow the law he was signing. Somehow the Obamahaters never objected to Bush.

  8. “disarming a population is a necessary first step in stripping them of civil rights”

You are really disconnected to reality. Black people in the South have been able to have guns since the end of the American Civil War, but it didn’t prevent the White folks from instituting Jim Crow and keeping them from voting, much less lynching thousands.

  9. charliehall he relaxed gun laws for Germans and totally banned them for Jews who were the ones that he murdered after he took all their guns from them
