Former prime minister Ehud Barak and former justice minister Tzipi Livni, both leaders of the current protests against Israel’s government, excoriated the Israeli government, especially the Chareidi and Dati Leumi parties, on CNN on Sunday.

Speaking with Fareed Zakaria, Livni began by claiming that the government’s judicial reform plan is a “threat to Israel’s nature as a democracy.”

Ignoring inconvenient truths, such as the fact that no other country in the Western world has a judiciary with as much power as that of Israel, Livini continued by making egregious claims about the UTJ and Religious Zionist parties.

“The problem is that we now have a government that is based on three different factions,” Livni said. “One of them is very religious, Ultra-Orthodox – they would like to ignore the idea of equality, for women. So for them the Supreme Court – they’re forcing the government to keep equal rights for all their citizens – it doesn’t suit them.”

“The National Religious Party – they want to prevent the Supreme Court from making judgments about the West Bank. The government wants to do whatever they want without any limitations…without any road signs, without police,” she lied.

Barak also took a jab at Chareidim by referring to their lack of army service but focused more on urging massive civil unrest.

“[The reform] is an attack on the soul and nature of our democracy. The government is acting in a blatant illegitimate manner,” Barak lied. “Citizens should engage in civil disobedience.”

Barak, a former IDF general and defense minister, continued by encouraging army refusal, saying that once “there’s a ‘dictatorship’ in Israel, the military won’t continue its ‘contract’ with it.”

Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli (Likud) slammed Barak and Livni, stating: ”הקנאה והתאוה .והכבוד מוציאין את האדם מן העולם”

“How easy it is to run to besmirch the government and state of Israel on CNN for five minutes of fame. As if it’s of interest to the BDS movement and haters of Israel if there’s a left-wing or right-wing government here. A pair of redundant political failures.”

  2. Wow! Now I understand why the mooslim cleric referred to some Jews as pigs and monkeys. Livni looks just like a pig and Eehood Barkak looks like a monkey. Hearing them speak, they must surely
    be islamists!

  3. This is the same disgraced Barak who was on all the news sites with regard to Jeffrey Epstein.

On 2 December 2014, when a coalition crisis over multiple policy disagreements boiled over Netanyahu fired Livni along with Finance Minister Yair Lapid from their posts, accusing the two of plotting a “putsch” to overthrow the government. Livni always hated Bibi and used us frum yidden as an excuse.

    What else is new ?

  4. To drugcommish
I usually don’t make it my business to agree with other posters, but now I can’t unsee the pig and monkey when I look at the pic.
