The Belzer Rebbe’s secretary, HaRav Moshe Ringel, informed the members of the chassidus on Monday that the Belzer Rebbe suffered a minor stroke a few weeks ago.

The announcement comes after several weeks during which the Rebbe rarely went out in public and seemed weak.

The announcement stated: “As is known, the public is worried about the situation of the Belzer Rebbe. Therefore we want to convey that all tests were carried out by the best doctors and Baruch Hashem no dangerous findings were discovered. What was found is that apparently the Rebbe suffered a minor stroke a few weeks ago, which affected the Rebbe’s movement.”

“We hope that very soon the Rebbe will be restored to good health. The public is requested to continue to daven for the Rebbe’s refuah sheleimah.”

The Rebbe’s name for tefillah is Rebbe Yissachar Dov ben Miriam b’toch sha’ar cholei Yisrael.

  1. It would be real journalism really helpful in these extenuating circumstances to publish vax status of anyone reported who got a stroke, blood clot, heart attack, turbocancer. Does anyone now if Belz vaxed out?

(JTA) — Just days after New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a vaccine mandate for employees of private schools — including religious schools — a major Hasidic leader in Israel has instructed his followers in Brooklyn to comply with the mandate.

Rabbi Yissachar Dov Rokeach, the leader of the Belz Hasidic sect who lives in Israel, urged teachers at a new Belz school being built in Borough Park to get vaccinated.

“In the matter of vaccinations against Corona, indeed, it is proper for all staff members to be vaccinated — the men as well as the women, and may it be with great hatzlacha [success,]” Rokeach wrote in a letter, according to local news site BoroPark

Rokeach’s instructions for his followers regarding the coronavirus pandemic have at times been contrary to government guidance. Last October, Rokeach refused to close his yeshivas and urged students to continue studying in spite of orders from the government to shut down to slow the spread of disease.

Still, Rokeach has come out in favor of vaccines. Earlier this year, a coronavirus vaccine drive was held at the main Belz beit midrash, or study house where about 1,500 people were vaccinated, according to Yeshiva World News.

  3. It would be real journalism to publish what percentage of stroke victims drank water in the year before they suffered a stroke, blood clot, or heart attack. I do know that the Belzer Rebbe suffers from Diabetes mellitus, which is one of the major risk factors for stroke.

  4. How low have we fallen! That when a holy Rebbe is ill, the first thing people can think of is well I hope Belz are vaxxed?!!?!? Seriously?

  5. look how easy one commenter can spin the thread to vax stories
the rebbe should be well but the rebbe is 75 and a very complicated health history for many many years its a nes that things have been this good, halevay veiter rabim tzrichim lo
