A massive fire broke out in the early morning hours of Shabbos in the Satmar Beis Medrash on Rechov Yonah in the Geulah neighborhood of Jerusalem.
Nine firefighting crew worked for hours to quell the flames, which spread to the two adjacent buildings, a Talmud Torah and a shul.
Baruch Hashem, there were no injuries but the buildings sustained heavy damage and are now in danger of collapse.
The firefighters rescued eight Sifrei Torah from the Beis Medrash and hundreds of Sifrei Kodesh and tefillin. At least two Sifrei Torah were damaged but Baruch Hashem were not burned.
It is not yet clear what caused the fire. A special investigative team was established to examine the circumstances of the incident.

There are reports that they suspect a hotplate prepared for a kiddush was involved.

Did anyone in the Satmer spit at the fire fighters?
Did any Satmer throw garbage at the police and cursed them?
THEY WENT IN AND SAVED SEFER TORAH
WHERE IS HAKARAS HATOV?
If I had to guess, agents of the Zionist regime caused the fire.
Baruch Hashem I am so happy that everyone is okay and no one got injured.
Thank You Hashem that everyone is alive and healthy.
May I ask who took the videos ? On shabbos ?
“If I had to guess, agents of the Zionist regime caused the fire..”
Probably the same Tzionists who stole the little bit of sechel you retained. You consistently demonstrate fidelity to your posting name.
I can’t believe they let zionists into the shul.
Simply disgraceful to see how low we have fallen to allow zionist firemen into shul.
to nebuch One video was obviously taken by a firefighter entering the building the other video was probably taken by a security camara.
“Simply disgraceful to see how low we have fallen to allow zionist firemen into shul…”
Agreed. It would have been a real kiddush hashem to let the fireman just stand outside and watch the entire beis medras, along with all the sifrei torah, burn to the ground. Maybe next time.
Kol Mevaser says : there is a Levayaa ” For what ?
Such a tragedy is nothing to make fun of. Let’s try to respect our Satmar friends and remember
the many achievements of their rebbes. We can disagree while still being respectful. Thank HaShem no one was injured.
Gadolhadorah, please don’t respond to my comments ever again. They aren’t intended for you. I read Vayoel Moshe and consider it one of the most important works of any Rav in the past century. The state definitely does dirty deeds. There is a lot of information publicly available about it. I’m trying to raise awareness of the fact that the regime does dirty deeds. It doesn’t concern you, and you just sound like you work for the regime when you make insulting comments. I honestly bet you vaxed out because the regime told you to or something. Please, do not engage me.
It’s mind-boggling to see how many mentally disturbed people post on this site. Really scary.
Reiven, i dont understand u, no satmars did anything wrong to the firefighters, who says they didnt have hakoras hatov for them
Whenever something like this happens it is incumbent upon the victim to do a Cheshbon Hanefesh. While no one can say they know which aspect of their behavior brought about the tragedy, in this case the Satmar community needs to look at their indifference to the wickedness from those who identify as Satmar such as those crooked developers who destroyed Monsey with their flouting of Mah Tovu.
“The state definitely does dirty deeds. There is a lot of information publicly available about it. I’m trying to raise awareness of the fact that the regime does dirty deeds”‘
I could care less about whatever “sefer” or other sources led you to believe anyone from the Netanyahu government participated in an arson plan to burn down the Satmar Beis Medrash. Your heroic efforts to “raise awareness” of mindless conspiracy theories about vaccines, arson or whatever other nareshkeit you spout put you in good company with the Marjorie Taylor Greene of the world. If you don’t want “insulting” comments don’t insult the intelligence of the tzibur.
