As the Knesset held a debate on Monday evening prior to voting on the first laws of the judicial reform, a protestor who disturbed the proceedings was forcibly removed by Knesset security guards.
The disturbance took place during a speech by the chairman of the Knesset’s Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee Simcha Rothman, who is spearheading the reform together with Justice Minister Yariv Levin. Prior to that disturbance, the members of the Yesh Atid party, including its leader Yair Lapid, draped themselves in Israeli flags when Rothman began speaking.
Large-scale left-wing protests against the reform took place around Israel on Monday, including outside the Knesset.
