The Agudas Yisroel Yerushalayim Yarchei Kallah full third day came to end and, the sense of comprehension intensifies. Learning about the Torah view of commerce Hasagos Gvul, and fair business practices mesmerized the Lomdim.
One participant pointed out that he works in Manhattan, and has been watching a building being built for the past three years. There was just a hole in the ground where dozens of workers were busy laying the groundwork. He thought it would never happen, but suddenly in just months, there was an 80-story building in that space. The Yarchei Kallah shares that same dynamic. Three days of plumbing into the depths of the Sugya have prepared a very solid foundation. It is now time to build a tall binyan of understanding.
The sound of the Torah being learned by hundreds of eager lomdim was a source of great inspiration for anyone who opened the door and looked into the room. It was indeed what Chazal call Rischa Doraissa.
The participants had plenty of help getting to the pinnacle of achievement. HaRav Chaim Peretz Berman thoroughly analyzed the Rashi on the Sugya while HaRav Meir Tzvi Spitzer spoke about the famous dispute regarding the printing of Shas by the Slavita and Vilna printers and the worldwide controversy it engendered. HaRav Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi then spoke with his trademark warmth and unique style.
There was a special buffet lunch to celebrate three years of achievement for those who participate in the year-round Agudah Virtual Yarchei Kallah. HaRav Shraga Kallus, one of the regular Maggidei Shiur encouraged the participants to keep it up.
This afternoon, there was a unique Yarchei Kallah innovation, a panel addressing real-life case studies Halacha LiMayseh featuring three very prominent poskim; Harav Dov Kahan, HaRav Ari Marburger, and HaRav Chaim Meir Roth. They discussed many of the practical issues that business people face all over the world. There was much fascinating give and take and was much appreciated.
The very packed day continued with a special dinner hosted by Shuvu and addressed by HaRav Meir Tzvi Bergman, who was mechazek Shuvu and its students.
The evening concluded with a special shmooze by HaRav Elimelech Biederman who charmed and inspired everyone with his insightful remarks.
Everyone is looking forward to the last day with eager anticipation. With just one day left, everyone is aware of the immortal words of Chazal “חטוף ואכול חטוף ושתה”. Grab and eat, grab and drink for the world, which is like a banquet that doesn’t last forever. Maximizing our time is the order of the day.
