Magon Dovid Adom EMT Shraga Rosenthal said on the attack, “The scene was terrible when we arrived. We saw a vehicle near the bus stop that hit pedestrians that were waiting. We saw 6 victims near each other. 2 of them were 6-year-old children who were unconscious with severe multi-trauma injuries.

“A 27-year-old male and 30-year-old male were unconscious, and 2 further victims were conscious with limb injuries. We provided first aid and performed CPR on the two children. This is a very serious incident.”

MDA Paramedic Lishai Shemesh who was in the area at the time of the attack: “I was in the car with my wife and children and noticed a car driving fast into the bus stop and crushing the people who were waiting there. I stopped at the side and immediately ran towards the victims. A security person neutralized the terrorist. It was a shocking scene, we saw several victims including 6–8-year-old children who were lying unconscious. We immediately began to triage the victims and provide life-saving treatment. MDA teams were immediately at the scene in large numbers, and continued treatment while conveying to hospital. I joined one of the ambulances and we conveyed a 26 year old male with a head injury in serious condition to Shaare Tzedek hospital.”

  1. I have a close friend who wrote a Sefer all about the holiness of a Shul and a Bais Medrash. The Sefer is about 780 pages, that’s right about 780.
My friend is a lawyer and a very busy lawyer, he somehow found the time to write such a big Sefer.
He discusses that it is not a wise idea to enter the Shul with a cell phone. I myself witnessed many times that in the middle of Shmone Esreh the phone goes off and the guy tries quickly to shut it.
I asked the person why doesn’t he shut it before davening. He said to me that he forgot.
In the Sefer it says many things. I would like to mention one thing.
In the merit of Kedushas Bais HaKnesset, Hashem will protect us from our enemies.
If we need to Shmuz, is it so hard to ask your friend to come into the hallway. A true friend will cooperate with you because friends are always doing for each other favors. I help out my friends and my friends help me.

Hashem should send to all the injured a real quick and speedy recovery.

  2. I think it is about time to stop giving the terrorists bodies back. Instead, they should be buried in an undisclosed location with a pigs head. Perhaps the disgrace that would come with that will discourage them.

  3. For what it is worth, I don’t recall ever leaving a comment on a website to date but I feel compelled to now
@Avraham, can you please share the name of the Sefer? This is something that has resonated with me personally and I am sure with many others. I have no doubt that this upgrade will result in many many positive outcomes. Of course, G-D has set it up that those benefits are not necessarily obvious ( that is, in my opinion, one of the reasons why Tefillah is mentioned by our Chazal as something that will always need strengthening, ( i.e. learning about its benefits and meaning etc..)

Perhaps, someone reading this might consider that while our phones have become indispensable, we can be “ok” if we leave them outside of the place we come to talk with our Creator. On a personal note, after our shul reopened from the Carona situation, I decided to stop bringing it with me into the Shul building entirely( on rare occasions, it goes in a locker and is off). And yes, I was ” that guy ” who had somehow found a way to rationalize that I needed a phone that was on( silent) while I was davening. After all, my wife and children may need me. A co-worker might reach out. What am I really doing in Shul anyway? what am I accomplishing? I have so little ” kavana” anyway …Pick your ” voice” there are many along these lines ..
There is little doubt in my mind that we are almost all capable of doing this. While I don’t have a miracle story to share as a result of this commitment, perhaps the miracle is just that. We can all decide to do something different. Truth be told, when I look around in shul ( I try not to ) , I can’t help but see old myself in so many people who come in but instead of leaving the phone in the Car, and bringing themselves, they have left themselves in the car and brought a world of distraction to the place where all their problems can be solved and where they are meant to cultivate a relationship with Hashem.
forgive the soapbox speech, just sharing with anyone .. perhaps just myself.
May the Rofaih Ne’eman Heal the terrible wounds of the victims of this horrific attack B’karov and end the misery of Galus for us all.

  4. To Chelek Eloka Mimaal:
The name of the Sefer is VaTispallel Channah.

Imagine someone has an appointment with the President of USA. The guy walks in for his appointment with 2 cell phones a cup of coffee, he is looking at all the pictures on the wall, he starts to shmuz with the security guards, he noticed some cake on the table and he asked politely if he can have. After about 30 minutes he is actually almost ready to speak with the president of the USA.
    Good Shabbos to everyone.

  5. Thank you Avraham for the name
I don’t have to imagine it. I was doing it. I was trying to depict for anyone who might stumble on this post how crafty the negative voice inside of us (referred to by Rav Volbe as the אל זר בקרבו). The mashal you gave is the classic one, So simple and true but so difficult to apply. I don’t know many people who this approcah works for as a starting point.
