According to Israel Police officials, about 3,500 officers will be involved in the operation surrounding the Million Man Atzeres on Sunday, 1 Rosh Chodesh Adar II 5774. The atzeres is scheduled to begin at 16:15 with mincha. At 18:00 the tzibur, which organizers believe will exceed 600,000 mispallalim, will begin reciting Shema Yisrael and Kabolas Ohl Malchus Shomayim.

Other organizations involved, playing a major role are Magen David Adom, Ichud Hatzalah and ZAKA, with the last two now operating as a unified large organization which not only provides emergency care, but deals with lost children and other aspects of a large event.

The Jerusalem – Tel Aviv Highway will begin shutting down from Latrun in the direction of Yerushalayim from 12:30, rerouting trucks and at 13:00 all private vehicular traffic will be banned as well. Buses and taxis will be permitted to make their way to the capital.

Vehicles transporting the rabbonim shlita of the Moetzos Gedolei Yisrael have been given police permits, permitting them to travel to the capital despite highway closures.

Many Jerusalem bus routes will be halted, some re-routed, and the light rail will curtail operations too, as was reported by YWN-ISRAEL.
