VIDEO: Porush on PM Netanyahu: We Will Not Forget the Betrayal

por[WATCH VIDEO IN THE EXTENDED ARTICLE]

MK Meir Porush explained that the “stain” that bnei Torah will not be permitted to continue studying Torah in Eretz Yisrael is something that will be remembered and will never ever be forgotten.

The chareidi MK told the Knesset Channel that the chareidim will not become violent, but on the other hand they will be imprisoned or worse before complying with the Shaked Committee’s new draft law.

MK Porush further stated that the “stain that begins today”, which makes the chareidim 5th or 6th place citizens in Israel is solely because of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

  1. The focus should be on doing Tshuva #1 and outing Naftali Bennett as the leader of evildoers. There is simply not enough crying out against Bennetts actions. It shows a lack of clarity in my opinion to be blaming Netanyahu.

  2. 1. The hilonim cold still back down. Remember, no one has yet to be arrested under the new law, nor have they tried to draft anyone, yet.

    2. For groups such as Satmar, this is vindication.

    3. For Agudah, Degel haTorah and Shas, this is betrayal, which hurts more. They had finally grown comfortable with zionism, and then were stabbed in the back.

  3. #1 – The same prohibitions referred to in the VaYoel Moshe would apply to seizing the Israeli government – not to mention they have lots of guns, and shooting people isn’t our style. — The most likely outcome, assuming that the “right” doesn’t back down for fear of the hareidim allying with the “left”, and that the “left” rejects alliance with the hareidi given the left’s historic anti-religious bigotry (but they could decide we’re a minority in need of protection – lefties like that) — would be alliance with the Arabs (we support them running the government in return for leaving us alone) and that would be very traumatic for all sides (though it is probably the only way to end the Arab-Israeli War in a manner not involving mutually assured destruction).

  4. It’s not clear whay Porush is trying to accomplish here. He claims that haredim are being treated like 5th or 6th class citizens but makes no case for why that’s so. Until now all Haredim were exempt from the army if they were in Yeshiva. Now they are required to go to rhe army. It’s a big change and criminal sanctions is the wrong approach. But the Porush claim is nonsense and further validates Gur’ supporting Birkat over him for mayor of Yerushalayim. Haredim need better representation.

  5. No. 1: How can the Chareidim make an uprising without taking a break from their Torah study? And if they can take a break from their Torah study to stage an uprising, why not take a break from Torah study to help protect the country that protects and supports Torah study?
