Reports: IAF Attacked Lebanon During the Night

iafOfficial Israeli sources will not confirm or deny Lebanese media reports, but as correspondent Kobi Finkler stated on Kol Chai Radio, “one just has to connect the dots to understand what occurred”.

Lebanese media reports state the Israel Air Force attacked terrorists on the Syrian Lebanese border during the night between Monday and Tuesday, the eve of 25 Adar I. The attacks came a few short hours after IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz visited the Golan Heights and spoke with reporters. Gantz stated that Israel will not permit the transfer of weapons from Syria to Hizbullah in the hope of shifting the regional balance of power.

Arab media reports state the IAF struck out against Hizbullah objectives between Lebanon and Syria, apparently targeting a missile delivery convoy traveling from Syria to Lebanon. The attacks occurred in the Bekaa Valley area, one near Nabil Shat and the second near Janata.

The Daily Star website quotes military sources in Beirut reporting the IAF launched four missiles in the Janata area, on the Lebanese side of the border. A civil rights group based in Syria monitoring the civil war in that country reports the IAF struck a missile shipment heading to Lebanon.
