As Beit Shemesh prepares for another mayoral election, the dati leumi community’s candidate, Eli Cohen, met with Rabbi Chaim Druckman Shlita. the meeting was reportedly held in a warm atmosphere as Rabbi Druckman expressed his unwavering support for Cohen.

Rabbi Druckman told Cohen rabbonim in Beit Shemesh have come out for him in a public letter of support and the moment they call to back his candidacy, “certainly rabbis outside the city may not decide otherwise””.

Cohen also recently met with Tzfas Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Shlita, a prominent rav in the dati leumi community. The rav told the candidate they he is carefully following his activities and he sees that he enjoys a great deal of Siyata Dishmaya.

Cohen explained his activities on behalf of the Jewish People during his career in the Jewish Agency and promises to continue working hard for all citizens of Beit Shemesh when elected mayor.
