A shlichus of rabbonim from Toldos Aron and Dushinsky visited the home of Eida Chareidis Ravaad HaGaon HaRav Moshe Sternbuch Shlita in an effort to persuade him to retract his resignation from the Eida Chareidis. Rav Sternbuch explained to the delegation that his resignation is for the good of the Eida. An urgent kenos of leading Eida rabbonim has been called to discuss the situation.
Rav Sternbuch resigned over the ongoing dispute surrounding the Golovnititz construction project in Beit Shemesh. The ravaad announced his psak Halacha in the matter a long time ago, permitting ongoing construction providing his instructions are adhered to. Rav Sternbuch maintains the construction does not compromise kevarim as is maintained by Asra Kadisha. Eida Chareidis Gavaad HaGaon HaRav Yitzchok Tuvia Weiss Shlita sides with Asra Kadisha, opposing the construction.
As a result of the machlokes, extremists have decided they may act inappropriately and compromise Kovod HaTorah via pashkavilim and other actions aimed against Rav Sternbuch. Rav Weiss has recently come out strongly against attacking talmidei chachamim, telling his tzibur that doing so is far worse than compromising kevarim but it appears fanatic elements prefer to continue attacking Rav Sternbuch.
The machlokes has led to a split in the Eida, with the Satmar Rebbe of Williamsburg Shlita standing with the gavaad while a number of prominent dayanim from the Eida have come out in support of Rav Sternbuch.

Lets look how previous Gedolim acted in such a case, famous REB MOSHE KLIERS Rabo shell Tverye, who Satmer Rav ZL said he was one of two great people he met in Eretz Yisroel, when asked about an Eiriv Shaleh on Shabbos and was told that another Rav was Matir the Shaleh, he said that he goes along with that Rav’s Psak, after Shabbos he reviewed the Shaleh with that Rav who realized he erred, that Rav asked REB MOSHE what was his Psak REB MOSHE replied he was also Matir, so that Rav asked since you knew it was Not Muter why were you Matir, REB MOSHE’S answer was the Shaleh was a DRABONON SHALEH and KUVOD HATORAH is DEOREISU. this is a GODOL ……
