Prof. Stern Warns the Shaked Committee of Inequality

nc2One of the participants in the meeting of the Shaked Committee on Tuesday, 11 Adar I 5774 was Prof. Yedidya Stern, Vice President of the Israel Democracy Institute. Stern explained to committee members that in his view, what is about to become the new chareidi draft law is not acceptable. He stated that the Tal Law, which did not represent equality, was disqualified, and now the committee is preparing to pass another law that does not represent equality.

He expressed concerns from a legal and public acceptance perspective, telling committee members the public is expecting something different as a result of the sharing the burden effort.

Stern added “Statements of criminal sanctions do not hide the fact that next year there will be less chareidi recruits than in previous years. It will not be accepted by the general public and it is not legal. The adjustment period will not lead to adjusting anything other than preparing not to serve. The rabbonim have an interested in locking the doors for three years to show the world they succeeded and they can shut the doors, and meet their objectives. That is to say there is an interest in keeping yeshiva doors closed and preventing them from serving even for those who wish to serve.”

  1. A state that insists on the equality between good and evil will eventually be destroyed. If the zionists have chosen this as their course of action, it will be time to bring about the post-zionist era. We Bnei Torah will be there, as we have always been, but the enemies of Torah will be disappear, as they inevitably do.

    Could not agree more!

“Equality” is the new buzz word, here in the US, Obama and Deblazio are using it to kill the country. Israel wants to use this new word to fight the chareidim.
