Authorities say a school bus carrying more than a dozen children collided with a fire department ambulance in Brooklyn. The drivers collided at Fort Hamilton Parkway and 51st Street in Borough Park just before 9 p.m.
There are reports the ambulance ran a red light on Fort Hamilton Parkway, hitting the bus, which was traveling along 51st Street.
Officials say two adults in the ambulance and one adult in the bus suffered serious injuries.
They say 16 children were taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The NYPD says the cause of the accident is under investigation.
