Many flights at New York City’s area airports are being canceled due to snow and freezing rain.

The flight-tracking website FlightAware reports that 40 percent of flights at LaGuardia Airport have been canceled by early Wednesday morning.

At Newark Airport, 42 percent have been canceled and at Kennedy Airport 34 percent.

Passengers are advised to check with their airline before heading out to the airport.
