Jerusalem City Hall Approves Widening Arnona Deductions

arnAfter a two-year freeze in expanding arnona property tax reductions in Jerusalem, the city council last week voted to widen reductions due to the efforts of Degel Hatorah councilmen.

Deputy Mayor Rabbi Yisrael Kellerman and Councilman Rabbi Eliezer Ruchberger worked to enlist the efforts of others, including Shas councilman. Shas hold the arnona portfolio in the city council.

The council agreed to add 4 million NIS to the arnona reductions and an additional 2 million NIS in funding to save families in need from going hungry. The new criteria are increasingly favorable for families with many children.
