Sirens sounded in Eilat on Friday night as rockets were fired from Sinai towards the southern portion of the port city. Two powerful explosions were heard, reportedly as far as 20km (12 miles) away. B’chasdei Hashem the attack was averted as the Iron Dome fired two rockets which were successful in intercepting the incoming rocket(s).

Immediately following the attack Route 12 was closed to permit the IDF to operate in the area. There were no reports of fatalities, injuries or property damage.
