While Magen David Adom and Ichud Hatzalah responders were performing CPR on a 90-year-old woman, her son attacked the team amid shouts to halt resuscitation efforts on Thursday morning 29 Shevat 5774.
The responders arrived at Bnei Ephraim Street in Tel Aviv and found the elderly woman in cardiac arrest. According to the Ichud Hatzalah report, the son requested that they stop CPR. Menachem Amsili of Ichud Hatzalah adds that the son was told without a power of attorney form permitting him to make such a determination; they are compelled to continue resuscitation efforts. This is when the situation escalated as additional family members that arrived on the scene became involved, until it became physical. One family member pulled a knife and threw it at one of the responders while demanding to halt CPR.
Police were summoned. It is unclear just how the matter ended.

Obviously some grief-stricken nutcases since we must make every effort to save a life, even when it appears the victim may have been niftar. Was the person who attacked the first-responder arrested and charged with assault??
what now? Emt’s will have to be armed.
#2 many are armed
Or the cops could show up at every ems call like many places in the US.
