The Route 35 bridge connecting Belmar and Avon was closed earlier Tuesday after a crash. The elevated surface made it difficult for tires to get traction. It was shut down while crews worked to plow and de-ice it.
“I think the roads are pretty slippery so I’m glad to be going home and I’m staying there and I just hope that all my kids get home,” says Evelyn Quinn, of Wall Township. “So I’ll be happy when everyone’s home and safe.”
