At times, shoppers erroneously assume that if they buy a garment in a frum neighborhood and a frum store, there is nothing to worry about. This is especially true regarding frum clothing items. Well if this is what you believe you are incorrect and need to read this shatnez alert to avoid chas v’sholom transgressing this prohibition.

People can simply ask the frum clothing store owner. What’s the big deal?
I strongly suggest doing some research into how long people have checked Shaatnez for. Then begin to learn the Poskim. And then try to see how many of them hold you don’t need to check for Shaatnez, unless you KNOW there is a Shaatnez mixture.
Asking does not help. The garment must be checked. Not because the owner will lie, chas v’shalom, but because he can’t know unless the materials were checked. Even presuming the ba’al ha’bayis made the garment himself, he did not make the materials himself. He is relying on what his non-Jewish suppliers told him, or on the labels on the goods. Neither of these are “admissible in a court of halachah.” Therefore, the garments must be tested.
Reply to Chachom:
Would anybody rely on a restaurant owner that it is kosher without a Hashgacha?
NEVER!
Shatnez is no difference!
In addition the garments are made in China and as the Shulchan Aruch states garments made not by a Frum Jew must be tested very very well.
Unfortunately many people fall victim to Chachom and other Chachomim.
