A Queens Hatzolah found his car covered in hate on Sunday morning.
Sources tell YWN that the Hatzolah volunteer parked his car last night at Queens Boulevard and 82nd Avenue, never expecting to find it as he did this morning. The vehicle had its tires slashed, and swastikas and other obscenities were painted on it.
The NYPD was contacted, and Detectives are working on the case. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force was contacted as well. As of this time, police are focusing on nearby security cameras for possible footage of the crime.
If you have any information which can assist police, please contact 1-800-577-TIPS.

Chazak v’ematz!!
Could it be because he was parked by a yellow line? Was he on a call?
Yes reb shadow, the new penalty for parking by a yellow line in queens is a swastika scrawled on your car.
First post ever, but I decided this is important- As a Hatzolah member myself- I am insulted by poster number 2. First, to imply that had he done something wrong, he would be deserving of such blatant anti-semitism is disgusting and inappropriate. Second, if you knew anything about Hatzolah and the way we operate, you would know he did nothing wrong. First, painting a curb yellow does not mean you can’t park there. It is in fact illegal in NYC to paint a curb yellow. The only thing that would ban parking there in general is a sign from the DOT saying “No Parking” or “No Standing”. Even if that spot had such a sign (which I don’t know), that still would not necessarily bar this particular member from parking there. The DOT issues parking permits to Hatzolah vehicles allowing them to park in “No Parking anytime/specific hours”, “No Standing except Trucks unloading and Loading” and by meters without paying. This is not for use on emergencies but as printed on the permits “for emergency standby”. These permits are specifically made so that your vehicle can be readily accessible and nearby for when a call goes out. Since this member (who I don’t know) parked it there for the night, I assume he lives in a building and may possible have such a permit to park in front of his building. NOT every member has such a permit, Hatzolah only issues them to active members who need them for a particular reason (to Hatzolah’s credit since technically every member could have but Hatzolah wants to avoid the abuse of the system and has a committee that decides who gets these permits). Also, to make it clear- these are different then the Hatzolah issued permits you see on every Hatzolah vehicle, while merely allows the member to utilize lights and sirens when dispatched to an emergency and is an identifier to the authorities that this vehicle is authorized by Hatzolah when parked illegally when on an emergency including on the transport to the emergency room. Hope this clarifies.
