Lawsuit Filed Against Christie, Others Over Traffic Jams

chrSix New Jersey residents have filed a federal lawsuit against Gov. Chris Christie, the state of New Jersey, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and others over traffic jams in September.

The suit filed in federal court Thursday appears to be the first civil claim over traffic that appear to have been caused as political punishment for the Fort Lee mayor.

The plaintiffs want it certified as a class action.

Lawyer Rosemarie Arnold says she filed it after learning this week that lane closures on an approach to the George Washington Bridge were “deliberate actions.” She says that her clients were late for work and that one suffered a panic attack.

Christie has denied involvement. His spokesman did not respond to an email seeking comment.

  1. The street bully is getting his, for a change.
I’ll take him at his word that he didn’t order the closing but this scandal can’t help but take him down a few notches.
At GOP convention, instead of talking about Romney and the GOP vision, he was blabbering on and on about himself.
And the unnecessary , fawning and publicity-seeking ObamaHug — talking about how he cared only for the people blah, blah..?

  2. To Commenter No. 1: Would you see that this is not a frivolous lawsuit if the facts were that Louis (Calypso Louie) Farrakhan called for a million of his supporters to block traffic on a Friday afternoon in Boro Park to stop traffic so people could not get home before sundown on Friday? If Gov. Christie’s actions, or the actions of his senior staff, were deliberately intended to tie up traffic, I see no difference between Gov. Christie’s action and the hypothetical action I postulated.
