Speaking at an event sponsored by Bar Ilan University’s student body, Labor party leader MK Yitzchak Herzog explained he is willing to entertain a land swap agreement with the PA (Palestinian Authority). Herzog, who is opposition leader as well, explained he plans to unite the left-wing and replace Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in the next election. He told his audience that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu simply has nothing to sell voters in the next election.
Regarding a possible land exchange he stated, “I would love to keep the Shomron as part of Israel and I do not disqualify a land swap agreement in exchange for Ariel. The political line of MK Tzipi Hotevely who supports one nation will spell disaster and death for Israel and the only solution is two nations for two peoples.”
Referring to Yerushalayim, Herzog called the capital “the foundation of our very existence”, adding “we must distinguish between the core of Yerushalayim and Arab villages that appear on the map as Jerusalem simply because someone drew the map is this fashion.”
