Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers from the entire community who participated in the ongoing search for Caleb Jacoby today. We are deeply grateful for this outpouring of support.
We will continue to support the outstanding efforts of the Brookline Police Department, and provide updates with new information as appropriate.
We continue to pray for Caleb’s safe return.

The teenage son of Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby is still missing Thursday morning, and Brookline police are asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Caleb Jacoby, 16, was last seen leaving his Brookline, Mass., home on Monday, January 6, at 12:30 p.m. He is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with a thin build and light brown hair. He was wearing navy chino pants or jeans, a navy polo shirt, a brown winter jacket with a hood, and brown shoes or sneakers. Caleb is an 11th grader at Maimonides School in Brookline, and is often seen in libraries and atTemple Young Israel on Green Street in Brookline, according to a police flyer.
On Wednesday, Jeff Jacoby wrote on his Twitter account, “Never have the words “prayers” & “praying” so dominated my email inbox. The outpouring of concern for Caleb has been incredibly heartening”
Brookline Police say the investigation remains “active and ongoing.” The department asks that anyone with information call 617-730-2222 or Detective Kenneth McHugh at 617-730-2710.
