Yishai Firm in His Demand to Oust the African Illegals

2As the left-wing remains tenacious in its self-perceived human rights struggle on behalf of the tens of thousands of illegals in Israel, Shas’ Eli Yishai remains firm in his call to oust them – the sooner the better.

In what is perceived by many as nothing short of madness, the illegals, most of whom arrived from Sudan and Eritrea, have organized and are continuing with daily protests in different cities, at state institutions and foreign embassies. On Tuesday 6 Shevat they protested outside embassies in Tel Aviv and on Wednesday, in Yerushalayim. Thousands took part in Wednesday’s protest, the fourth consecutive day of taking to the streets.

They are now brazenly demanding a meeting with the prime minister and elected officials. A number of MKs from the Yesh Atid, Labor, Meretz, and Hadash parties are calling on Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein to permit representatives of the illegals to enter Knesset to meet with officials. After consulting with the Knesset security officer, the speaker decided not to grant the request despite the support of the four MKs calling to permit them to enter.

Many look on in bewilderment and growing concern, well aware that the very same people whom have reeked havoc on southern Tel Aviv and brought violent crime to the entire city are now seeking mercy and political asylum, and they may succeed in their battle.

Yishai continues to verbally and publically back Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s position calling to oust them once and for all, unwilling to capitulate to their demands amid a reality that illegally entered the country. The prime minister has announced “the protests will not help”, stating emphatically they will be deported from Israel and they will not receive political asylum.

After seeing the large turnout outside Knesset on Wednesday, Yishai called to take advantage of the situation and arrest them all and transport them to the detention center pending their deportation from Israel.

President Shimon Peres added “We know what it is like to be refugees and we will act in the morally correct fashion concerning the illegals.” The president added that Israel has signed the international agreement pertaining to asylum seekers and it will act as it should.

119 jailed asylum seekers are maintaining a hunger strike, insisting they will continue until their requests for asylum are examined.
