Governor Andrew Cuomo included NYC Mayor de Blasio among other Statewide local governments in praising their overall response to the severe weather and snowstorm, Capital New York reports.

Asked about whether New York City mayor Bill de Blasio properly handled the storm, his first crisis since taking office on Wednesday, Cuomo gave “kudos all around” and specifically congratulated Long Island’s two county executives, while leaving off any direct praise for Mr. de Blasio.

“We’ve been working with local governments all across the state, obviously New York City included,” Cuomo said during a conference call with reporters Friday morning. “I think the response has been good all across the state and in New York City also.”

“The proof is in the pudding in a lot of ways. You have heard the reports on the consequences of the storm. I say, kudos all around. [Suffolk] County Executive [Steven] Bellone and [Nassau] County Executive [Ed] Mangano had long nights, but they performed admirably, and their teams performed admirably,” he added.

The mayor himself, Mr. de Blasio gave his new administration high grades in confronting his administration’s first crisis — 9 inches of snow.

“It ain’t over til it’s over, but I like what I see in terms of the rigor and the intensity of the city response,” Mr. de Blasio told reporters at a morning briefing in Queens. “Based on the information I have right now, I give everyone an A based on the effort and based on the extraordinary effectiveness.”
