Police say two men were robbed at gunpoint in Central Park but the thief apparently didn’t like the cell phone one of the victims was carrying and returned it.
Police say two gunmen approached the victims around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
One of the robbers produced a gun and told the men not to make a noise or he would shoot.
The thieves stole a briefcase, a wallet containing cash and a cellphone. But victim Kevin Cook tells WCBS-AM that when one of the robbers saw his 2010 LG Quantum cell phone, he scoffed and gave it back.
The older model has a screen that slides up to reveal a keyboard.
The robbers remain at large.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
