Following the fatal sniper attack from Gaza into southern Israel which left a civilian worker dead, the IDF is taking steps to protect farmers working in fields close to the border.
Following that attack the IDF prohibited famers from working fields within a kilometer (6/10 mile) of the border as they feared additional attacks.
Realizing the farmers need to get back to work, the IDF has lifted the ban and is taking steps to protect the farmers. When asked to comment on what is being done to ensure the safety of the field workers, the IDF Spokesman explained it is not going to publish the measures being taken, but it does confirm it is protecting the workers in those fields.

Shmad?
You mean they hadn’t previously been protecting civilians?
So what do you claim the army does on a day to day basis?
