IDF officer Lt. Achiya Klein who sustained serious eye injuries in a bomb blast near the Gaza border is optimistic that he will return to his military service.
The 22-year-old resident of Kibbutz Kfar Etzion explains that while he realized his eyes were injured, it did not really sink in, the extent of the blast and what happened to him. Six weeks after the bomb attack doctors are still fighting to save his eyesight. He has undergone surgeries and Baruch Hashem today, Achiya is able to see colors and it appears his vision is returning but he has a ways to go.
The young officer remains confident that he will recuperate and return to his unit and continue serving in the IDF.
