Hot Soup Deliveries to the Elderly Continued in the Blizzard

Kuvien Snow In Jerusalem 2013 ---086During the difficult days of the blizzard which shut down the capital, the “Giving with Love” nonprofit enlisted the assistance of additional volunteers. The organization remained committed to getting hot meals to the homes of residents, with an emphasis on the elderly and the infirmed.

The organization reached many homes, delivering meals and clothing for adults and children alike. In some cases, those in need were transported in SUVs to safer and warmer areas.

The organization operates year-round, delivering sandwiches daily to hundreds of children from poor families. The morning sandwich is followed by a hot lunch for many elderly residents of the city, working with Jerusalem Social Services officials to direct them to homes in need.

During the blizzard the volunteers used insulated packaging to make sure the soup was still hot when it was received by recipients.
