teA new version of the Technion website has gone live in three languages – Hebrew, English and Arabic. Technion, which was one of the first to launch a website in Israel, revamps its site every few years. In this most recent version, several new technical and content features have been added.

Technion researchers’ innovations and achievements in science and technology are put at the forefront, along with campus atmosphere through the use of photographs and articles. In addition, the site fulfils its traditional role as the gateway to all Technion departments and the range of activities taking place at the university. The website offers a range of services including fast web browser, shortened links to faculty sites, quick registration, and easy access to the campus map, the Unit for the Advancement of Students, and contact with faculty and staff.

Technically speaking, the new site sits on an innovative platform for building websites and blogs (WORDPRESS) and it has been recently adapted to all screen types and devices: desktop and tablet computers and mobile platforms. The site caters to the world of digital media and social networking.

The Technion has a very large number of followers on Facebook (40,000) and on Twitter it offers its followers regular updates. Technion’s YouTube channel is also very active and has become a leader among Israel’s academia, with over 9 million views.
