New Yorkers were navigating icy sidewalks and roadways after a winter storm turned from snow to rain overnight in the metropolitan area.
The winter storm that blanketed the northeast with snow had passed through the region on Sunday morning. But it left behind a coating of ice after snow turned to rain on Saturday night.
The storm dropped six inches on New York City’s Upper West Side and five inches at the Central Park Zoo.
Westchester County received the most snow, with about 7.6 inches in Armonk and 7.5 inches in Scarsdale.
Flights were taking off on schedule at area airports on Sunday.
