Another round of snow will be headed to the New York area on Saturday. The snow could change to freezing rain or rain at night.
A low pressure system that will begin to develop late Friday and Friday night in the Lower Mississippi Valley.
While it won’t look all that impressive at first, it will begin to tap into moisture from the Gulf of Mexico as the system pushes in our direction.
We’re expecting snow to arrive in the New York City area around noon on Saturday. We’ll see snow most of the day and into the night, but it should start to mix with ice and rain by midnight before tapering off early Sunday.
Early estimates are 2 to 5 inches of snow in the City and 5 to 8 inches north and west of the city. Less snow is expected along the coast.
As for today, most places should fail to get out of the 20s this afternoon.
