Officials in Florida say two pilots who were hit with a green laser were able to land the JetBlue plane safely.
A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office statement says the pilots on flight 521 from LaGuardia to West Palm Beach had the laser pointed at them on Monday night. They were about five miles from the Palm Beach International Airport.
According to the statement, the pilot said he believed he was being tracked because the person using the laser made repeated sweeping movements with the light across the aircraft. The pilot also said he had to shield his eyes to land.
Authorities have not made any arrests.
The statement says there’s been an ongoing problem with lasers pointed at planes landing at the airport.
