Jerusalem City Councilmen Yossi Deutsch and Yitzchak Pindrus of Yahadut Hatorah together with dati Councilman Aryeh King on Shabbos visited the Mitcham HaTachana site to see if the chilul Shabbos at that site was ongoing.

The councilmen were eyewitness to the chilul Shabbos, realizing nothing has changed following Mayor Nir Barkat’s promise to halt the Shabbos desecration at the now popular shopping area, the old train station near Emek Refaim.

The councilmen documented that restaurants and shopping locales were operating. They remain determined to pressure the mayor into honoring coalition agreements and maintaining the city’s religious status quo.
