20 Vessels Took Part in Reverse Flotilla from Gaza

gazTwenty vessels carrying 200 participants left the Port of Gaza on Monday 29 Kislev 5774 in the hope of breaking Israel’s marine blockade of Gaza. The vessels were planning to then break the Gaza territorial limit set by the Israel Navy. On board the vessel were many international activists and journalists who were setting the stage for another Mavi Mamara but the day passed without incident.

Participants in the “reverse flotilla” threw bottles carrying messages to break the blockade overboard in a symbolic gesture to the international community. The vessels did not attempt to pass the naval border and there were no confrontations.

Five naval battleships were standing by but their services were not required.

  1. “Battleships”? Perhaps you meant to use the word “Warships” or something similar. Battleships as a class became obsolete decades ago.
