While once upon a time the Vishnitzer Rebbe Shlita instructed talmidei yeshivos to report to induction centers, the rebbe is now instructing his followers not to do so.
Speaking to chassidim during Seudas Shlishis on Shabbos Chanukah 5774, the rebbe explained he is firm in his position that bnei yeshivos are not to report to induction centers if they receive a draft notice. He explains this was the decision reached by the Moetzas Gedolei Hatorah, adding this is his personal opinion.
“The little that we still receive from them is not worth the price that has to be paid” the rebbe continued.
“The consistent tyranny and attitude from state leaders towards the chareidi tzibur today competes with how Jews are governed in the Diaspora. Current state leaders lack the basic understanding that their predecessors had and they have one goal, to minimize the chareidi tzibur’s Avodas Hashem and they are using all means available to them towards achieving this goal.”
The rebbe explained “We must show them we are not afraid of them and that we will not budge a millimeter and we will continue in our path as we have over the generations.”

Baruch Hashem. We must fight this Shas Shmad with our lives if necessary.
I don’t know what diaspora this Rebbe is referring to, but Israel’s shmad and hatred of frum Jews is unique an unparalleled worldwide. What in the diaspora can even compare to it?
What does he mean by “The consistent tyranny and attitude from state leaders towards the chareidi tzibur today competes with how Jews are governed in the Diaspora”?
Perhaps the story here on YWN where the US Government paid for a new sefer Torah for an army base there?
This is Reb Shmuel Averbach shita not shared by other Gedolim.
There is a lot being written in secular circles since we are approaching the 100th anniversary of World War I. Most historians concluded that the powers stumbled into the war during the month between the assassination of the Austrian Archduke and the start of the war. During that time all the leaders knew they were being drawn into a catasrophe but failed to stop it. The leaders of the western world collective made a very bad decision, and most knew it at the time.
From the time of Lapid’s election and the Lapid/Bennett declaration of “war on the hareidim”, we are in a similar period as that preceeding the outbreak of war. The results will be catastrophic for the yishuv, probably resulting in a single Islamic state replacing Medinat Yisrael (a mere inconvenience for us, but a devastating catastrophe for the zionists). However until they actually start mass arrests or trying to close down non-zionist yeshivos, the war has actually begun. We can never agree to meet their demands to give up Torah, which is what they are demanding – but their state can survive with a hareidi minority as it has done for three generations so there is room for the hilonim to back down.
Frum Jews will be loyal to Torah as we have always done. And if the hilonim don’t realize the importance of Torah to our people, then the conflict is inevitable. We will survive, they will not, and they will all look back and ask why did they not back down.
He will cave. Right now this is blustering. Bottom line, we will see the Charedim enlisting in the army. eventually, most of the country will be religious. So, of course you will have Chareidi soldiers. And when the Charedim are in the majority how many people will get a dichuy for learning in yeshiva?. Not one!
Bogen – I have an idea – let’s get the Iranians and Hamas to team up with the Chareidim and together we can fight against the Evil Tziyoynim
Baruch Hashem it’s not only Satmar and Toldot Aron. Hopefully all Litvish yeshivot and other chassidut will follow suit.
How perfect are the words we say these days to the situation in Israel ruled by reshaim.
The “sensible” people in the Knesset are aware that pushing too hard will lead to firm resistance, to the point of civil war. We’re seeing the process start.
Another rabbi jumping aboard the extremist bandwagon; To make news, to be rated to get publicity.
Another bullet shot into reasonableness, seichel. Another bar lowered into the abyss of fanaticism.
Do you think Moshe Rabbeinu would like this kind of Judaism today?
Your’e disgusting, AThought. Taking a posuk and completely falsifying the meaning because of your sick obsession. On Chanukah, yet.
#3 Satmar’s shita since the Zionists came to power. Now b”H the Viznitzer Rebbe shlit”a is showing the way to other charedim.
#5 Chassidim have more Jewish pride than you and if a Rebbe says not to go, not one single chassid will disobey him.
This is b”H a good start and within the next few days or perhaps weeks probably most Rebbes will demand of their chassidim the same. As long as the army as is not 100% according to Torah, there will not be any charedim joining them. The only “charedim” in the army today are Daati Leumi – but that’s not with the Hamans in government want. They want to lehashmid et kol hayehudim.
#9 Moshe Rabbenu would be truly proud of charedim, the only Jews who follow the Torah WITHOUT compromises.
El Maggid: Who jumped on the extremist bandwagon? The Vishnitzer had been trying to be part of the zionist bandwagon (and let’s be real, creating an “alternative” to Torah is an extreme as a Jew can get), and has finally realized that the pure hareidim (e.g. the groups that refused to accept zionist money) were right. Note he isn’t advocating anything extreme, such as throwing bombs or assasinating zionist leaders – only refusing to ignore them and to peacefully keep learning Torah.
As Moshe Rabbeinu made it very clear that the right of Jews to live in Eretz Yisrael was contingent on the uncompromising observance of Torah and Mitsvos, I don’t see what the issue is. He would look at a country that is overwhelming secular, one engaged in all sorts of horrific violations of Torah law, and would assume the Jews are about to be kicked out again unless they do tseuvah and give up zionism.
Akuperma… First of all, they’re not getting kicked out again. There is no mesorah for a third exile.
Second….Chareidim had a chance years ago to be the majority but refused to come, now they’re crying uncle.
Third… learning Torah?? Very few learn Torah all day. This is a myth. Very few ever learned Torah all day. Jews in Eretz Yisroel for the most part worked. You can be mekayim all your mitzvos when engaged in honest labor.
Fourth– You do NOT prevent people from joining the army when others are protecting you and laying their lives on the line. This is not Torah. This is cowardice.
AThought.. Whatever you write is hevel and utter nonsense because you falsified a tfilah deliberately and dishonestly.Obviouly, you don’t have a leg to stand on if you have to resort to brazenly misinterpreting a piece of Torah.

Now it’s the Zionists and Hakadosh Baruch Hu will save us for their evil hands too.
