Minister Ariel: I am Working Hard to Resolve Chareidi Housing Shortage

hHousing Minister (Bayit Yehudi) Uri Ariel visited the Har Yonah neighborhood in Upper Nazareth as part of his official visit to chareidi construction sites. He was accompanied by Shas leader Eli Yishai.

The Har Yonah project is being built to accommodate the chareidi community. In the previous administration, when he was serving as minister of the interior, Yishai worked hard on developing the Har Yonah project.

Ariel stated “Since assuming my post I have done my utmost to resolve the chareidi housing shortage. In the last two months I visited Givat Ze’ev, Kiryat Malachi, Betar Illit, Tzfas, Tel Tzion, and Kiryat Gat in an effort to remain in the loop towards finding a solution to the chareidi housing shortage.

“I have called and attended many meetings towards finding quality solutions. I am grateful to MK Rabbi Eli Yishai for assisting me in this. Rav Yishai was among those pushing the Har Yonah project from the beginning and I am grateful for this and remain thankful for our relationship.”

Upper Nazareth Mayor Shimon Gapso thanked Ariel for his assistance and continued support in developing the area. Gapso also acknowledged Yishai’s assistance in the past and present.

  1. All housing built especially for the chareidim should be located in the West Bank.
It’s cheaper to buy and build. Many of the chareidim say they are opposed to Zionist rule & therefore shouldn’t object if that area is returned to Arab rule. Israel wouldn’t have to worry about the expense of returning them to Israel in the event that itis given to the Arabs.
