In a meeting not disclosed to the public, Mayor-Elect Bill de Blasio met with Israel’s President Shimon Peres in New York City today.

“Had the honor of meeting President Peres today and discussing the close ties between New York City and Israel,” Mr. de Blasio tweeted Monday evening.

After inquiry by YWN to the office of Mayor-Elect de Blasio over then nature of the meeting and details of the conversation between the two men was left unanswered. “Mayor-elect de Blasio met with Shimon Peres and the Consul General this afternoon for a private and informal meeting,” a spokesperson said.
