Four men were arrested on Friday in connection with the assault of a 24-year-old pedestrian in Borough Park, Brooklyn
Police believe the assault is part of the so-called game “knockout” — where unsuspecting residents are targeted and sucker-punched.
In the most recent incident, a Jewish man was walking along 18th Ave. at about 2:45 a.m. on Friday when he was punched in the face.
The men arrested range in age from 28-38, according to police.
The NYPD says the growing trend has occurred in predominately Jewish neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
CBS2 reports that The Rev. Al Sharpton spoke out against the “knockout game”.
“If someone was running around talking about knocking out blacks, we would not be silent,” Sharpton said. “We cannot be silent.”
Sharpton also stated that he will be working with famous celebrities to denounce these actions. Time will tell if the reverend will live up to his words.
