The Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch is reaching out to the community after hate messages and a Swastika were found scrawled at a Jewish construction site.
The graffiti, reported to the patrol organization yesterday, was located inside a portable bathroom at a construction site in the area of Presidential Estates on River Avenue, LCSW coordinators tell TLS. Similar graffiti was noticed in the area of Monmouth Avenue as well, LCSW says.
The volunteer organization is encouraging residents to report such activity.
“The Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch would like to encourage Lakewood residents to report any such incidences to the authorities,” a coordinator tells TLS. “Our local law enforcement agencies take these offenses very seriously and work to ensure that Lakewood remains a safe town for all of its diverse citizens.”
The coordinator added, “LCSW strongly condemns the offensive message discovered this week in Lakewood targeting many of our residents. Please don’t hesitate to come forward with any information regarding this incident or any instance of racism and bigotry that hampers the safety and security of Lakewood citizens. Call the Lakewood Police Department, as well as our 24-hour hotline at 732-367-1212.
