On Thursday a United Nations interpreter, unaware that her microphone was on, uttered words of truth in reaction to the General Assembly’s adoption of 9 resolutions condemning Israel, for some reason.

While one of the speakers were addressing the Assembly in English, the interpreter, speaking to one of her colleagues, was unaware that the mic is on. She rightfully displayed her amusement at the number of anti-Israel resolutions into the headphones of every UN delegate, and before a live webcast audience worldwide:

UN Interpreter: “I mean, I think when you have five statements, not five, like a total of ten resolutions on Israel and Palestine, there’s gotta be something, c’est un peu trop, non? [It’s a bit much, no?] I mean I know… There’s other really bad s–t happening, but no one says anything, about the other stuff.”

Chair and delegates laugh.

Interpreter: “Apologies.”

Secretary: “I understand there was a problem with interpretation?”

Interpreter: “The interpreter apologizes [audible gasp].”
