New York’s motor vehicles department has added a website link where motorists can check their driving records and license status.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the new option on the state’s MyDMV site, which will require registering online for access, is intended to reduce visits to state offices and waiting in lines.
The site also permits drivers to change their listed addresses, order personalized license plates, renew or replace a license and now check how many points they have on their licenses from traffic infractions. There’s also information about suspensions and revocations.
They can also sign up to receive email registration renewal and inspection reminders, purchase a copy of their driver record, register to vote and enroll as an organ donor.
