In a letter sent by Kiryat Arba Chief Rabbi Dov Lior Shlita to religious MKs from Likud, Bayit Yehudi and chareidi parties, the rav calls on lawmakers to vote against the giyur reform bill being presented by MK Elazar Stern in the Ministerial Legislative Committee. The rav writes in line with our Torah HaKadosha, one mustn’t support his bill. Rav Lior writes the bill must be defeated in an effort to maintain “Kedushas HaMachane” in the coming generations.
In the rabbinical community, there appears to be a consensus between chareidim and dati leumi poskim, with the exception of the Tzohar Rabbonim, Rabbi David Stav and those who support his hashkafic line.
