Councilman David G. Greenfield is once again partnering with the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) to provide district residents with access to free legal help at his district office tomorrow, Monday, November 4. Any constituent who needs help with legal issues but cannot afford a lawyer is welcome to make an appointment to meet with a professional and experienced NYLAG attorney from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday inside NYLAG’s state-of-the-art mobile van, which will be parked outside Councilman Greenfield’s Bork Park office tomorrow. Any residents of the 44th District who would like to take advantage of this opportunity for free professional legal assistance should contact Councilman Greenfield’s office at (718) 853 2704.
“Legal advice can be very expensive. That’s why I am working with the New York Legal Assistance Group to bring free, professional legal services directly to the residents of Boro Park, Midwood and Bensonhurst. I urge anyone who needs legal advice to contact my office to schedule an appointment for Monday,” said Councilman Greenfield.
Lawyers will be available to provide legal advice regarding issues with government programs like Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps, housing and other public assistance programs. This marks the second time Councilman Greenfield has brought the NYLAG mobile assistance van to Boro Park. In addition, Councilman Greenfield is also partnering with City University of New York (CUNY) to provide free immigration-related legal services to residents of Boro Park, Midwood and Bensonhurst on a variety of issues including filing for citizenship, deferred action for students under the DREAM Act and expediting applications for green cards and visas. This program will continue during business hours twice a month beginning November 13th, so anyone who needs immigration or citizenship-related legal services should also contact Councilman Greenfield’s office to make an appointment.
“Between the great attorneys at NYLAG and CUNY, I am confident that we can help residents with many of the legal issues they are currently facing. There are still plenty of appointments available for both services, so please call my office for assistance,” added Councilman Greenfield.
The NYLAG mobile van will be parked outside Councilman Greenfield’s Boro Park district office, located at 4424 16th Avenue (corner of 45th Street), from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow, Monday, November 4. For more information about this program or the upcoming CUNY immigration services, contact Councilman Greenfield’s office at (718) 853-2704.
