Over 100 people took part in a melave malka event outside Ayalon Prison in Ramle in a showing of support for administrative prisoner Boaz Albert. Albert, whose brutal arrest led to modifying standard operating orders for the use of a police tasers, refused to agree to release under house arrest outside of his home.

As a result of an administrative military order against him, Albert is barred from returning home to his wife and family in Yitzhar. Last week he told the court that he will not accept house arrest in someone else’s home, opting to remain behind bars.

Police have called for keeping him behind bars without bail but both the magistrate and district level courts have rejected the police request since in essence, Albert has not committed any crime.
