The deranged individual who last week assaulted HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita was brought before another remand hearing on Sunday, 23 Cheshvan 5774.
The Tel Aviv Magistrate Court ordered the suspect, Yehuda F. to remain in custody for an additional week as he remains under observation in the Abarbanel Mental Hospital. The court feels he poses a danger to others and therefore, he may not be released. His situation will be reevaluated once again on the second day of Rosh Chodesh Kislev, in one week.
The defense attorney requested a court order banning the publication of the defendant’s name due to the fact he resides in a chareidi community and the nature of the incident. Defense counsel explained the publication of his name will have serious consequences for the defendant and his entire family. The court ruled that since the name has been getting around already it was pointless to issue such an order at this juncture.
