Citizens Union announced its endorsements of David Storobin for City Council in the 48th District. In supporting the candidacy of Mr. Storobin, Citizen Union continued in its tradition of backing candidates who demonstrated a strong grasp of reform issues that is complimented by their policy knowledge and experience.
“New York City faces a watershed election year and Citizens Union believes our endorsed candidates can best serve the City as we enter a new era of governance,” said Dick Dadey, Executive Director of Citizens Union.
“Our evaluation process sought candidates committed to honest, effective and accountable government and capable of serving their constituents as well as the needs of the city as a whole. We feel these qualities are well represented in each of our endorsed candidates.”
Citizens Union is supporting Republican David Storobin in Brooklyn district 48 due to his support for reform and policy knowledge in several areas, particularly regarding the intersections of city, state and federal law.
In accepting the endorsement, Mr. Storobin said “I am thankful to the great volunteers at Citizens Union for giving of their time to meet and discuss the issues that are important to our city. I am humbled to receive their support, and I hope to work with them in the years to come in bringing true reform to city government”.

Storobin can try and pull out all stops; even phantom endorsements from so called leading rabbis will not help him mask the truth. He is running scared – and for good reason. Every ” real ” rabbi and yeshiva is backing Chaim Deutsch. Who is this storobin? Where has he been the last 22 years? What are his accomplishments other than self promotion? This community needs a doer, not a talker! It’s time for action , not idle words! Vote for Chaim and you’ll have a real advocate on your behalf!

I’m seeing horav Belsky’s picture showing up in publications at my door shaking storobin’s hand as if endorsing. This is blatantly false! This is the desperate act of a candidate who is rapidly sinking!
Mr. Straw Bones has NOTHING to show. He’s accomplished absolutely nothing tangible that can be presented anywhere.
He’s a desperate man grasping for anything that will help him stay afloat.
This has nothing to do with frum, frei, Jewish or other. It’s all about who will be a real doer and leader.

I wish everyone was able to see what storobins real web sight was before he changed it. His law firm web sight advertised how they got criminals off to lesser charges . That’s what a criminal lawyer does gets off muggers rapist criminals that break into our cars every night. He it’s proud of his success rate. How can he protect our families in out r areas. We are in very deep trouble if we allow him to get into office
I am an immigrant from a former Soviet Union. I, as well as hundreds thousands of immigrants, have a story. My story is almost the same to everybody’s else. New country, no language skills, cleaning houses and looking after elderly, school and children. Nothing unusual. This is way when last year Storobin started his “poor Jewish boy” story, I was just laughing. My children worked since 14, I had two jobs. So what. It was my choice. Nobody forced me to leave my job and apartment in Ukraine. I did it for a betterment of my children. Also I did it to run away from dishonest government and special deals. It was part of my American dream. Twenty four years later, I see that our government is not the most honest one, but I still hope. And upcoming election is also a part of my hope. I read, look up information on all candidates and I see who is who. I have written comments before and everyone knows I am for Chaim. But I am not only for Chaim, I am so much against Storobin, his dishonesty and low life behavior. I can go on and on and tell you what he says to Russians but I said it before. Today, just one week before an election, I am asking you, very respected community, community that keeps its values and believes, help me to believe in my American dream, please vote for someone who will be the best voice for all communities.
