Success for Bnei Torah Party; Jerusalem, Modi’in Illit & Bnei Brak

aurThere is an atmosphere of simcha for the followers of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita for the Bnei Torah enjoys a measure of success in the municipal elections.

It appears that Bnei Torah has earned representation in the Modi’in Illit, Bnei Brak and Yerushalayim City Councils.

In the Yerushalayim race Bnei Torah received 7,377 votes and Chaim Epstein will be a member of the city council. There are already rumors that Epstein will be appointed a deputy mayor and receive a quality portfolio – payback from Mayor Barkat to the chareidim for supporting his opponent.

In Modi’in Illit, Bnei Torah’s Zach list earned over 2,000 votes and it appears it will have at least two representatives around the city council table.

In Bnei Brak Bnei Torah’s Eitz list earned 4,780 votes and representatives Ruchamkin and Malachi will be on the city council.

  1. Baruch Hashem!

It is such a pleasure seeing a party backed by Gedolei Yisreol shlit”a meet success on their very first try.

May this be the first of many victories.

  2. A party backed by Gedolei Yisroel? Maybe backed by a Gadol BaTorah, but someone who is a Gadol BaTorah and commands respect among a narrow margin of the nation, is not automatically a Gadol B’Yisroel. Besides, this party is backed more by jealousy and anger.

If they had voted for Moshe Leon and had the Rebbes had Ruach HaKodesh and instructed their followers to vote likewise, we wouldn’t be looking today at another five years of anti-Torah leadership in Jerusalem. The incumbent won with 51% of the vote. This means that everybody’s vote counted and everybody’s vote not for Leon counted, and unfortunately may be counted Above as well with not so favourable results.

  3. I dont know where u live – UJM – but there was a big Machlokes about this Benei Tora party and it was so amooth about how things were done

I am NOT speaking Chas VeShalom about Rav Shmuel Aurbach, SHLITA

There were alot of Askanim who spoke badly (and more – not onl apeech) about Maran Harav Shteinman SHLITA and Rav Chaim Konyevski SHLITA

I hope there will be Achdus and that they WONT run like this for the National Electuins (besides – they have a much much smaller chance of getting in there and then their votes will have gone to waste – as the relative amount of Chareidim who voted for them is much much smaller than in the whole population – if u live here u know what I am “saying”)

I am actually relieved that the elections have passed and we will be “licking our wounds” fro a while and I am sure all the part that was NO SO MUCH LESHEIM SHAMAYIM will create Chinuch problems
