Due to the efforts of MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Rav Moshe Gafne, hundreds of tons of genizah that was to have been buried for some time will be buried in accordance with Halacha.

Gafne turned to the director-general of the Ministry of Environmental Affairs explaining those responsible for the kvura of genizah have not been successful in doing so since “hundreds of tons of genizah have accumulated”.

Gafne explained the need to bury the papers and religious items in line with Halacha, citing the need for an appropriate cite. The daily Yated Neeman reports that Gafne received a response promising a solution in the immediate future.
